His Secret Home

This is the first time that Susanne Schuberth and I have been inspired to write a poem together. What a blessing.

There is a place deep in our hearts
That knows no pain or fear
Troubles may come, troubles may go
This dwelling place stays clear

Of filthiness and awkward pose
Of all that is confused
Oh, and this place is secretly
Our home where we are fused

With Him who’ll meet in privacy
When time and place are right
While our longing to be one
Will be His own delight…

The Scientist and the Pilgrim

Silver Lining

http://www.myenglishclub.com/photo/every-black-cloud-has-a-silver-lining

“But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember then from what you have fallen…” (Revelation 2:4-5 RSVA)

The hardships and delusions of life can make us forget the love we had in the beginning with Christ, but He calls us to come back to Him. It is not too late.

“The Scientist”

(Lyrics by Cold Play)

Come up to meet you, tell you I’m sorry
You don’t know how lovely you are I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apartTell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let’s go back to the start

Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a science apart

Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh, take me back to the start

I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart

Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh, and I rush to the start

Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

I’m going back to the start

Oh [x4]

The River of God’s Love

Falls in the fall

There is a love,

Born from above.

It’s sweet and strong,

‘Tis heaven’s own song.

God places His love,

In hearts with His dove.

That they might release,

On earth His peace.

These hearts have no hate,

For these He did create.

Transformed by His grace,

As they behold His face.

Eternal love grows,

Like a beautiful rose.

It knows no end,

To the feelings within.

These hearts reach out,

They want to shout,

From the highest peak,

About the One they seek.

Love, faith and hope,

God gives them scope.

Though we might be slain,

In our hearts they remain.

When two hearts become one,

In the love of the Son,

Together they’ll grow,

In Heaven’s river they flow.

Gemstones bound in clay,

On its banks ‘till that day,

When love drew them forth,

To follow its course.

His love washed them clean,

In heaven’s bright stream.

And soon they’ll be found,

In God’s lovely gold crown.

“Then he showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship him; they shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads.” (Revelation 22:1-4 RSVA)

Two Hearts Made One

Heart of Light1

Two hearts sought to be one,
Though they once dwelt as two.
Two hearts longed for perfect love,
On this earth it’s known by few.

Two hearts hungered for unity,
Their search went near and far,
They looked to men to find the way,
But found it in the Morning Star.

He healed their wounded hearts,
Scarred by battles and fray.
And showed them a Light so fine
He led them to a brighter day.

God is not found in darkness they say,
For He’s not the God of night.
But those who have dwelt in darkness know,
That He came there to give them Light.

Our wicked foe tries to quench,
All that the Light has done.
But some things he cannot undo,
We’re held fast by God’s own Son.

He gave His life that we might live,
In a love that is so sublime.
And embrace one another there,
Long past the end of time.

Two hearts made one in unity,
By His love their wounds were healed
One heart rules over them both,
To His love they did finally yield.

Oh the joy of perfect love,
We can share with God above.
All good things are ours in Christ,
Sent down on the wings of a Dove.

Like Little Children…

This poem by Susanne shows the journey that many of us have been on as we go from this world, through Christendom and finally onward to our Father’s kingdom. What wonderful insight, Susanne!

Susanne Schuberth's Poetry

A child, so humble and so bold
To rise against unrighteous cold
Unkind and loveless heresy,
Is hard to find apparently

Instead you see them quarrelling
About what’s right or wrong, they cling
To doctrine, dogma ill-conceived
And leave their audience deeply grieved

Heaven’s Binary Love

doe&fawns 2013-web1

There is a river that flows from the throne of grace
Its origin is found within God’s heart in His holy place.
It flows out beneath its threshold seeking the humble and broken
The warmth of the sun and the glow of the moon are only a token.

The love of a man and a woman is a divinely wrought sign
Of something far greater that God has in His eternal mind.
We look into each other’s eyes and feel the magnetic draw
But what He has for us is beyond anything we’ve ever saw.

We’re not called servants for He calls us His cherished friends
The mysteries of His kingdom are all ours as we make amends.
This world is only a shadow of His glorious kingdom to come
Imagine exploring hand in hand where Jesus and God are the sun.

They say that ear has not yet heard, nor has eye ever seen
Nor can we grasp or comprehend what His mind does mean.
Yet prepared by Him for those with love enlivened by Him
And heed his upward call to forsake their base earthly whims.

He gives us His Spirit with our saving faith so we can communicate
This way we now can hear His voice and in heavens plan participate.
Jesus promised He would come again and never leave us alone
Until we finally join Him around His mighty celestial throne.

He has a house waiting for us with many rooms above
Each room is a bridal chamber fraught with His love.
The place that is ours to enter with unselfish prayer and adoration
His ecstatic love is ours as we follow His call from creation.

Do you dare to believe His words that He will come into you?
He stands at your door and so wants you to know Him too.
When we open up to Him to more than knowing him with our mind
We can feel His presence, His loving touch for He is so kind.

He meets all our longings and wins our hearts so true
As a man with a woman His love reaches out to woo.
Oh, the power of our joining united together as one
There is no earthly feeling to compare under the sun!

Visions, dreams and ecstasy… these are all ours from Him to know
That God reaches out to those who dare to enter into His flow.
He rewards those who seek Him with all their hearts and wills
And longs for us to know Him intimately, how deep the thrills!

A husband and his bride are a mere taste of something far more
For Christ is our Husband who seeks a wife that will Him adore.
Imagine being loved by Christ as His one and only Bride
Though we are many to each one alone He will confide.

Our union with Father and Son, a unity that knows no end
Into it we are called to join them never again to descend.
Like binary stars in orbit as one, is heaven’s expanding love
As we answer the call of the Spirit, His boundless holy dove.

In His Garden

Patricia Lelión wrote:

Michael and Susanne I share one of my poems, I hope you can translate it …..

IN HIS GARDEN

I

En el Jardín de Dios, su preciosa flor soy,
Lluvia se ha derramado sobre mí,
He crecido, me he fortalecido y hasta
Mi fragancia se ha elevado.

II

Dios me ha ido podando,
Quitando ramas que quitan mi belleza,
Ha desyerbado todo a mi alrededor
Y cuando las nubes cumplan
Su propósito de nuevo brillará el Sol.

A special thanks to Susanne Schuberth who translated Patricia’s poem into English for us…

I
In His garden, I am God’s precious flower
Rain has been poured over me
I am full-grown, I have been revitalized
Until my fragrance was refined

II
God has been pruning me
Removing those branches that hid my beauty
Weeding out everything around me
And when the clouds gather
It’s that the sun can shine again

Thank You for some laughter in the rain
And for tears of joy mixed up with pain
For new life that follows death
Resurrection’s first fresh breath

Breathed on us out of clear sky
That makes dry bones surely sigh
See, flesh and skin from on high
Yes, His kingdom’s life is nigh

The Light of Salvation

Susanne posted this on my main blog, “A Wilderness Voice” December of 2013 and I found it again today and wanted to share it with you all and hope it blesses you the way it has me.

Susanne Schuberth's Poetry

On the Way ... (Photo by Paul Schuberth) On the Way … (Photo by Paul Schuberth)

His Life eternal here on earth
Who sees its beauty and its worth?
Although our eyes are opened now
It’s dimly view, through glass somehow

Into His realm, into His face
Beholding Him, receiving grace
Empowered by His Love, so true
To share His blessings, no one knew

Before God made them manifest
Giving His Spirit to these blessed
To you and me, to everyone
Who have believed in Christ, the Son

Loving a Woman (God help us!)

Man and questioning woman

By Michael

Oh God in your book it is written without whim,

“What is man, that you are mindful of him?”

But here is a question quite different in tone,

What is woman that makes her stand out all alone?

What is this marvelous and complex creature called woman?

She’s the only one in God’s handiwork created  for Adam.

Man in all his weaknesses and frailties can’t fathom her,

He sees her loyalty and faithfulness to him without stir.

She’s a tireless companion to him out of deep love.

Her heart sets the tone of the home, whether raven’s or dove’s.

All she wants from him is to be loved in return,

And know he’ll be stable and hear her concerns.

He need not fix problems of her emotional fray,

But rather to listen with love saying, ”Honey, it’s okay.”

A token of his love now and then is also good,

A bouquet here, a night out there’s understood.

A woman hurt from early age needs much more,

Childhood abuse and neglect wounds to the core.

A man must be special to love one of these,

Even reaching out in love may not put her at ease.

Until God steps in and heals deep in her heart,

His love must be constant and enduring from the start.

With much prayer and kindness his love will prevail,

Eventually she will see he’s not there to assail.

God made woman to be loved as only Jesus can,

He made man with inability to take such a stand.

It is a divine setup to drive him down to his knees,

And beg for Jesus’ heart within for her needs.

God, heal us and change us no matter the cost,

Do a deep work in us, restore all Adam has lost.

Change us and mold us ’til we look like your Son,

Heal both at heart’s level ‘til the two become one.
