Love Unfeigned

pardonwoman

How far will your love dare to go?

Will you dare to let it publicly show?

You say you love but does it hurt?

Is it sacrificial or is it just dead works?

When the person you help has a shady past,

And people find out you are reaching to outcasts,

Will you continue to be seen by all with them,

And be accused of joining-in with them in sin?

Will you, like Christ, let reputation go,

Or will you retreat and let them suffer another blow?

Will you be a friend of sinners, tax men and whores,

Or will you join in with the “righteous” and slam your doors?

Religion purports to care for the hungry and lost,

But it always considers how much it costs.

Money and fame seems to be the utmost

Consideration in what they build and boast.

As for me and my house we will care for the least,

And could care less about thoughts of ones serving the beast.

Who is a whore in the eyes of God above?

Is it a poor woman or one who sells Christ’s love?

Give me the sinners as friends in my life,

I am tired of your gossip and religious strife.

You can judge and condemn and go your way,

But I will forgive and show love to my dying day.
